Alyson Kuhn has a fantastic write up about the Correspondence Salon for Ladies and Gentlemen, which took place at the National Postal Museum on September 22nd. If RLD readers will remember, I journeyed there myself — meeting some fantastic folks in the process and taking part in the shenanigans of the day.
Jump on over to Neenah Paper’s blog “Against the Grain” and take a look at “On the Real Mail Trail” — I can hardly wait for the second installment! (and if you’re feeling so inspired, leave a comment and let Alyson know what you think!)

Wow, still a 6 p.m. collection… Those days are gone at the Olympia WA post office. :-[ ~ Jack@Cascadia Artpost
Cascadia —
6 p.m. is pretty rare around here as well…but there are still a few blue boxes in SF’s financial district that do a 6 p.m. collection! I actually pass this box on Tuesday evenings, on my way to Japanese class. Oftentimes, I actually -hand- my mail to the postal employee collecting the mail!

Just have to tell you, that same picture of you & Mr. Zip as in the “on the Real Mail Trail” article resides proudly on our fridge and makes your Dad smile every time he walks by!
