Janice --

Oh how I LOVE those household budget/ledger books! I know -exactly- the ones you're talking about: multiple columns, Japanese writing at the top of each column, and the COLORS -- all those ledger lines in turquoise and red, on a background of warm white. I have far too many of them, sitting on the shelf waiting to be used...
 Thanks for reading along! :-)

Re: a stationery tour --> you got it! :-) The first order of business would be figuring out which part of Tokyo to stay in, since it's ALL so cool!
I love imagining you in Japan, on the hunt for family lore and history. Let me know when you start that adventure, as I'd love to hear all about it.

I have been following your delightful blog about your vacation to Tokyo, Japan! Travel is a wonderful thing to do--several years ago, we were in Bangkok and then in Tokyo where I got to see and buy some gorgeous papers, pens, and little stationery sets... there were all kinds of helpfully formatted paper for students and moms, in particular. I remember that Household Management notebooks were abundant--blew my mind. Thank you for taking me on a paper lovin trip with you... Janice

Lady Pamela --

Wow! So cool to hear that you lived in Japan...in high school I lived in Yokohama (exchange program) for six months. It made me fall head-over-heels; there was no looking back! You should definitely try and go back one of these days -- it would be interesting to hear whether or not things are radically different from how you remember them...
